OpenVoice Studios offers several opportunities each year for our students to perform at music venues in the local community.

We have several types of shows, so whether you’re a first-time performer or an advanced student looking to tighten up your set, we’ll help you take that next step.

Local Emerging Singer Showcase

This semi-annual show is a great way for students to try out singing in public for the first time, gain more live-performance experience, practice performance skills, conquer stage fright, build their repertoire and their resume in a warm, safe and encouraging atmosphere.  There are 10-12 performance slots and all levels are welcome.

A Night of Singers!

This semi-annual show is tailored to the more advanced student.  We book a well-known local music venue and 4 performers get a half-hour set each.  This is a great stepping stone for a student looking to become a performing musician.  This show is a chance to build up your chops, as well as gain important skills such as self-promotion, song selection, song arrangement, and finding accompaniment.  Plus, you get paid!

Living Room Concert Series: Teacher and Student Show

For this semi-annual show we turn our cozy lobby into a beautiful performance space and we pair a student opener with a teacher headliner.  Student performers are hand-selected by the staff and quickly learn the details of being a professional singer.

Living Room Concert Series: Student Recital

For this semi-annual show we turn our cozy lobby into a beautiful performance space for our budding professional singers that are too young to perform at the 21+ venues where we host our other shows. There are 5-6 performance slots and all levels are welcome.

Student Karaoke Night, Open Mic Night Fieldtrips, Studio Parties and more!

We encourage and help our students to network with each other, other local professional and amateur musicians, and music venues.  We also encourage our students to get out and perform for fun – no matter what level they’re at.  Our community is very important to us, so you’ll often find us joining our students at area open mics, throwing singing parties at the studio, and even organizing group trips to karaoke night!

Performance Preparation

Never been on stage before?  Not sure if you’re ready to get out there?  Don’t fear! We work hard to prepare our students fully for all of their performances, whether they perform in our shows or they’re heading to karaoke for the first time.  Throughout the course of singing lessons, in addition to voice technique, students work on creating an emotional and engaging performance, building improvisation skills, microphone control, song analysis and memorization, and, of course, conquering stage fright.
