Brant Bottum & Laurie Zack
Laurie Zack and Brant Bottum, aka: Acoustic Breeze, have been playing music together since they first met 6 years ago. After their first date, Laurie brought her guitar to play. Brant, who had not played guitar in 30 years, suddenly found his interest in music rekindled. Because of this renewed interest, Brant started taking guitar lessons from George Fletcher’s Saratoga Strings studio. Laurie, who started playing bass in 2004, began taking bass lessons at the same time. Since she loves to sing, she got Brant interested in singing.
All this pent up creativity needed an outlet, so Brant and Laurie pulled together a group of friends to form their first rock band 6PAC. After much practicing and two gigs, the band split up.
One day, after a guitar lesson, Brant and Laurie noticed a business card for Sam Whitehouse Music, now Open Voice Studios. He and Laurie talked it over and decided to start taking voice lessons; that was 2 1/2 years ago.
The Studio is a great forum for connecting with other musicians and getting your performing wings. Sam Whitehouse Studios has not only helped Laurie and Brant become better singers and performers, it has given them the courage and the initiative to form their own duo, Acoustic Breeze.
Acoustic Breeze has played at multiple Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls and Lake George venues. Their music genre includes such diverse performers as Van Morrison, KT Tunstall, Bruce Springsteen, Coldplay, Eva Cassidy, The Band, Tracy Chapman and Kings of Leon.
